  • Venus In Furs, also locally known as Paragon, is a new club in New York's Bed-Stuy neighborhood. Though it's been hosting exclusive parties since the winter, including one dweller event, the venue only announced its opening today, April 11th, via Instagram. Located at 990 Broadway, the space maintains a strict invitation policy and requires all visitors to RSVP through its website before each event. However, RSVPing doesn't guarantee entry. There are multiple floors, including a ground level with a bar and a checkered dance floor. Higher up is a mezzanine lined with glass balustrades that hosts the DJ booth and offers additional room for dancers. The space is the latest venture of John Barclay, the owner of the indefinitely shuttered Bossa Nova Civic Club as well as the now-defunct 285 Kent. The next party takes place on Friday, April 15th, from 9 PM to 3 AM. Visit the venue's Instagram and website for more details. Check out some photos.
Correction, April 11th: A previous version of this article called the club Paragon but the official name is Venus In Furs. Correction, April 11th: A previous version of this article said Venus in Furs was located in Bushwick. The venue is in Bed-Stuy.
