  • A new album by Perel examines whether Jesus has roots in outer space. Jesus Was An Alien, the artist's first full-length since 2018, "is a discourse about whether Jesus was an actual alien, but also a social debate about what is and implies religion today," Perel described in a press statement. Exploring acid, EBM and electro across ten tracks, the record arrives on May 13th via Cologne-based Kompakt. The title track, featuring vocals by Marie Davidson, is out now alongside two club edits. Jesus Was An Alien follows a string of EPs and singles by Perel, a DFA affiliate. These include the 12-inches Real, from earlier this year, and 2021's Star. The DJ and producer released her debut LP, Hermetica, in 2018. Listen to "Jesus Was An Alien" featuring Marie Davidson.
