  • BEIRUT x BERLIN is a new exchange residency programme organised by Beirut cultural hub Riwaq and Berlin multi-disciplinary platform Your Mom's Agency. Taking place on April 7th and 8th in Berlin, and April 19th through 21st in Beirut, the programme will facilitate artists from each city travelling to the other for a series of mentoring workshops focused on music tech. They will also collaborate on new music, both remotely and in person. The aim of BEIRUT x BERLIN is to nurture existing connections between the two cultural hubs, introducing artists to a new city and ways of working. The first participants are audiovisual performer, DJ and cofounding member of the Beirut Synthesizer Center, Elyse Tabet; multi-instrumentalist and composer Anthony Sahyoun; Jordanian Circassian performer and soundpack specialist Zazuka; and producer, speaker, lecturer and CDM founder Peter Kirn. The programme will include a session about the electronic music scene in Lebanon and the Middle East, a synth workshop at Moog Berlin HQ and a workshop about sampling using tools like Orchestral Tools. The full schedule of masterclasses and workshops can be found on the website. Listen to Elyse Tabet's project launch mix for dublab.
