  • A new Amsterdam club called Parallel, programmed by the Paradiso team, opened last weekend. Located in Amsterdam Noord, the venue formally known as Tolhuistuin / Paradiso Noord has been transformed into a nightclub. Parallel's first party was last Saturday, March 12th, with DJ Lag. Upcoming highlights include Paramida and Eclair Fifi on March 19th, Josey Rebelle on April 1st, Karenn hosting a Voam party on April 2nd and JASSS on April 23rd. A PC Music showcase is slated for May 6th. The club will also partner with promoters working to foster a community, like X3 and PARDON. "Parallel isn't about big headline DJs but about people connecting and enjoying (new) music and art together," Joshka Landsheer from Parallel's marketing team told Resident Advisor. "With one foot in the now and one foot in the future, we showcase multifaceted club nights and live acts in a broad variety of genres related to electronic and hip-hop music, from amapiano to UK garage and from techno to Afro house." Check out some photos of Parallel's sold-out opening party.
