SoundOn is a new service on TikTok that allows artists to upload music directly to the video app and earn royalties when their tunes are used.
The free service will pay out 100 percent royalties to creators in the first year and 90 percent after that. SoundOn will also distribute music to major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora and Instagram. In addition to distribution, artists will also have access to a range of promotional tools, audience insight and marketing support.
When artists release music on SoundOn, the platform will present their work to TikTok creators for use in videos. SoundOn, currently available in the US, UK, Brazil and Indonesia, also works with influencers to promote music by artists active on the platform.
