  • Refraction Festival has announced names for its 2022 edition. Originally organized as an online music and arts festival in 2020, Refraction became a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) in late 2021. This year's instalment will take place physically from March to June in various locations around the world, and will also include a two-day event in the metaverse. Kicking off this week, the festival will release a series of NFTs that will also double as limited-edition tickets for Refraction. (Conventional tickets to the festival will also be made available, details TBC.) NFT holders will also be granted access to other Refraction events taking place beyond the main festival. Names announced for the forthcoming events include Ron Trent, Yu Su, Ciel, Byron The Aquarius and The Allegorist. "While being decentralized, as the lineup begins to grow, what we're seeing is a very interesting process of curation, based on shared community values, both local and global," said Refraction founder Malcolm Levy. "This is as much about building a global independent movement as it is about just one specific event, with a shared, hybrid vision bringing all of these pieces together." Check out the lineup.
