Resident Advisor, Secretsundaze and fabric are organising a livestream to raise funds for relief efforts in Ukraine.
Streaming For Ukraine will take place on Thursday, March 3rd, from 2 PM through 10 PM GMT. Broadcasting live from fabric's Room Two and streaming via RA's website and Facebook page, as well as Secretsundaze's Mixcloud Live, the fundraiser will feature DJ sets by Secretsundaze, Fabio & Grooverider, Craig Richards and Daniel Avery.
Back-to-back sessions from Gilles Peterson and Jamz Supernova, Jane Fitz and Carl H, Danielle and Parris, and Shannen SP and Ikonika are also on tap.
The livestream will collect donations via this page. Funds will be distributed evenly between charities and humanitarian organisations working on the ground in Ukraine. These include Red Cross’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal, Choose Love’s Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser, Sunflower Of Peace and Black Is Polish.
"We've been very fortunate to have played in Ukraine, particularly at Closer in Kiev, over the years and have built cherished connections and friendships with the hugely warm and hospitable residents of the city," Secretsundaze cofounder James Priestly said. "Hearing first hand tales of evacuating cities, chaos at borders and taking up arms in defence has been heartbreaking."
He added: "We were due to play at Closer this weekend. Instead now, we wanted to help bring together this live stream-a show of solidarity with the people of Ukraine against Putin’s unprovoked aggression and a chance to raise money for humanitarian causes on the ground."
