  • Equation Festival, a boutique gathering focused on artists around North and Southeast Asia, is back after a four-year hiatus. Taking place in a 25-metre high limestone cave in the northern mountain town of Mai Châu, roughly three hours away from Vietnam's capital city of Hanoi, this year's edition runs from April 8th to 10th. More than 25 artists from neighbouring countries have been booked, including .TAG residents Cora and HAO as well as Bangkok's Sunju Hargun and DOTT. Vietnam-based talents such as Hibiya Line, founder of The Observatory, and Ouissam of Hanoi club Savage are also featured alongside takeovers by local collectives Nhac Gãy, Studio Adventure and Genderfunk. Equipped with a Funktion-One soundsytem, the cave will also host yoga classes during the day. Total capacity is limited to 888 people. Organised by the team behind Savage, Equation debuted in 2017. Previous editions took place at a lake near Hanoi with international guests, but due to pandemic-related travel restrictions, the 2022 edition is concentrated on regional acts.
