  • London label Pleasure Club is releasing the debut album by Johnny Hunter. Out on February 26th, the Dub Is King LP took nearly three years to make and "pays homage to the roots of soundsystem culture and its crossover journey into electronic music," Hunter told Resident Advisor. It spans eight tracks, with nods to dub techno, electro and UK garage. Dub Is King LP is Hunter's third release on Pleasure Club, following EPs in 2019 and 2020. It's also the label's first full-length release. Around the time the album lands, Pleasure Club will celebrate its fourth birthday with parties in London, Bristol and Nottingham. Guests joining founder Bobby Connolly (AKA Bobby.) include DJ Masda, Francesca and Harry McCanna. Listen to "Nah Wanna Accept" by Johnny Hunter.
