  • London-based DJ group 6 Figure Gang, AKA SHERELLE, Dobbs, Jossy Mitsu and Yazzus, are no more. Two of the remaining four members—SHERELLE and Dobbs—shared a statement via social media yesterday, January 26th, confirming the news. "We had decided to have a break in 2020," it read. "But after much thought... In 2021, we decided to disband the group." SHERELLE added a few words of her own. "The reason for the statement is because we all still get tagged in posts, gig offers or asked about it at nights out," she wrote. "For me, a friendship of mine within the group became fractured and came to end. Everything was dealt with in private back in late 2020." She continued: "Talking about things has been super stressful and triggering as a group. Even seeing newly tagged post or articles from the past just make the situation more sad. Even this damn post is stressful loool. But it's best it's out in the open." According to the statement, members of 6 Figure Gang will still play back-to-back occasionally and support "each other as much as we can." They all have solo careers as artists. Formed in 2019, 6 Figure Gang originally had six members—FAUZIA and LCY later left the group. In the space of a year, they played on Rinse FM and performed at Glastonbury, Electric Brixton and Berlin club Gretchen, among others. "We created an exciting blueprint for feminine-identifying people in electronic music and I just want you to take what we have started and create your own that is bigger and better and brighter," wrote Dobbs. "Take up all the space and do it with your friends. Create memories, moments and music together. Trust me, you wont regret it." Read the statement, plus SHERELLE and Dobbs's posts, in full.
