- The 15-track LP arrives in March on Bilna'es, the label cofounded by Muqata'a.
Ramallah-based vocalist and producer Julmud is releasing his debut album via Bilna'es, the label and publishing collective cofounded by Muqata'a.
Spanning 15 tracks of deconstructed club, glitch, grime and hip-hop, Tuqoos will be available digitally and on vinyl from March 30th. Julmud, who is also a percussionist, keyboardist and researcher, is part of Ramallah collective Saleb Wahad that was featured in Boiler Room's 2018 documentary Palestine Underground. He regularly collaborates with other Ramallah acts such as Al Nather and Makimakkuk.
Tuqoos is the second album and first vinyl release on Bilna'es. Established by Palestinian artists Muqata'a, Ruanne Abou-Rahme and Basel Abbas in late 2020 to support local creatives, the platform has also launched a project of experimental video games and art, as well as a series of posters for New York bookstore Printed Matter.
