  • An exhibition about electronic music has opened in Düsseldorf. Showing at Museum Kunstpalast from December 9th through May 15th, Electro. From Kraftwerk To Techno. explores the history of electronic music and its interconnections with other art forms. It's the first major music exhibition to have been presented by Kunstpalast. Running from the '70s to the modern day, the exhibition covers Kraftwerk, Detroit techno, Chicago house, hip-hop and '90s rave culture. There are more than 500 exhibits, such as instruments, custom-made sound generators, films, photography, graphic design and audio clips. Artists featured include Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier, Jean-Michel Jarre and Mouse On Mars. The exhibition also includes a staging of Kraftwerk's multimedia performances. Electro. From Kraftwerk to Techno. was originally conceived by Musée de la Musique — Philharmonie de Paris. The Düsseldorf iteration has been created in partnership with Ralf Hütter of Kraftwerk.
