  • The Drumsheds in North London is closing. The news was confirmed yesterday, January 18th, in a mailer from London promoter The Hydra, which will host the final event at the venue on Saturday, January 29th. The Hydra's NOT TO BE party will feature a slew of back-to-backs, with Four Tet, Ben UFO, TSHA, Effy, Gabrielle Kwarteng and Joy Orbison among the guests. The date was rescheduled from December due to the rise of Omicron cases in London. "We do fully appreciate that the new date is only a short time from now," The Hydra said. "But in order for us to recreate the show as close to the original as possible, with the same lineup of headliners, at the same venue, this really was our only option. NOT TO BE will be the last-ever show at The Drumsheds, which is closing. So, it was either this date, or cancelling the event altogether. But what a way to go, closing this outstanding venue with this show." Spanning four connected warehouse spaces with a capacity of up to 10,000 people, The Drumsheds first opened for Field Day in 2019. Since then, only a handful of parties have taken place at the venue, including Circoloco, Defected and headline shows from Pendulum and Black Coffee. It's still unclear why The Drumsheds is closing. Resident Advisor has reached out to Broadwick Live, the company operating the venue, for comment. Read The Hydra's statement in full, and check out the NOT TO BE lineup.
