  • Music platforms in the Philippines and beyond are urgently fundraising for disaster relief in the archipelago nation. Super Typhoon Rai, AKA Typhoon Odette, wrecked homes, farms and power supplies when it hit earlier this month. Hundreds have been killed and more than four million residents nationwide are affected, according to officials. Manila Community Radio, a hub for local DJs and producers, has set up a list of non-governmental organisations working in impacted areas. They include Lokal Lab and For The Future. The station, which turns two next year, is requesting listeners to support these collectives with cash donations that will go towards rebuilding efforts. Bad Times Disco, an online record store and party series based in Hong Kong, has launched a fundraiser for Kids For Kids PH, a youth-led collective working on on-the-ground climate advocacy, clean up and food aid. Meanwhile, Free The Robots, AKA Chris Alfaro, is currently working on a fund to help rebuild Siargo, one of the devastated regions.
