- Listen to a new version of "Monomom," first recorded on tour in Australia.
V.I.R.U.S, the five-album series by Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto, is getting reissued in 2022.
Between June and October, each of the five records—Vrioon, Insen, Revep, Utp_ and Summvs—will be re-released on vinyl and CD via NOTON. Each release will include remastered versions of the original tracks plus unreleased compositions. The full tracklists will be revealed in the coming months.
Out last Friday, the first single from the series, "Monomom," is a studio version of a track first recorded and performed on tour in Australia.
"It's important to us that this composition is released in a time of reflection and celebration of the new year," Noto, real name Carsten Nicolai, said. "We hope that its positive, at times gloomy atmosphere will encourage to look ahead."
