  • The Norient Film Festival, an annual celebration of films focused on music and sound, will hold its eleventh edition next year. Happening from January 12th through 16th in hybrid form with events in Bern, Switzerland, as well as virtually, the 2022 edition will mark two decades of journalism and events platform Norient. Programming includes documentaries on Matthew Herbert (A Symphony Of Noise), cumbia (Cumbia Around The World), Robert Soko of the long-running Balkan Beats parties (Here We Move Here We Groove) and Colombia's soundsystem culture (PICO: Un Parlante de Africa En America). Films on punks in Indonesia (A Punk Daydream), the hardships of a female background singer in Bollywood (Shut Up Sona) and the Italian cantautore Lucio Dalla (For Lucio) will also be screening.
