  • Johannesburg-based Namibian Gina Jeanz is releasing her debut album, Lucid Theory, this Friday, December 3rd. Spanning house, UK garage, R&B and other hybrid styles, the nine-track LP "celebrates overcoming my inner critique," Jeanz said. It includes vocal contributions from Sio, MOONGA K., Brad Knight, Jordan Baker and AliThatDude. "I had been fighting my own battles particularly after the passing of my mother in 2017," Jeanz continued. "I was severely anxious and could barely create music without running into creative blocks and worse, doubting my ability to bring my ideas to life." She added: "Being able to produce my own music during this period of uncertainty brought me so much peace. It's really the kind of space where I can just be my true authentic self without thinking about it [...] For the first time in a long time I was present and confident about what I wanted to do. It took some time to arrive at this point but I knew if I truly wanted to enjoy making music again I had to freely and fearlessly just do it." Listen to the album's lead singles.
