Written by Lance Scott Walker, who has been compiling research for 16 years, DJ Screw: A Life In Slow Revolution will land on April 19th, 2022, via The University of Texas Press. The book features contributions from more than 130 of DJ Screw's family, friends, students and more.
Known for creating the "chopped and screwed" DJing technique, DJ Screw, real name Robert Earl Davis Jr., was a pioneering figure in Houston's hip-hop community, putting out over 350 mixtapes. He died on November 16th, 2000.
