  • Nervous Records has released two expansive compilations looking over the label's first 30 years. The seminal New York label scored hits spanning hip hop, reggae, house and techno, releasing key records by the likes of Black Moon, Byron Stingily and Josh Wink. The label's distinctly New York attitude, epitomized by the cartoon adorning its records, was celebrated with by Masters At Work's 1993 hit, "The Nervous Track." Key characters from the first three decades of Nervous feature on a pair of respective four-LP compilations, Nervous 30 Years - Part 1, which dropped earlier this month, and Part 2, out today. They include Kim English, Stingily, Mood II Swing, Danny Krivit, Ralph Falcon and Joey Beltram. The collections also feature remixes from the likes of Gerd Janson, DJ Pierre, Tensnake, Louie Vega & Josh Milan and Armand Van Helden. "My primary focus for the sound of the label has and will continue to revolve around signing good songs and music that has the ability to react at the street level first," says label general manager Andrew Salsano. "The best results come from artists that are firstly given a bit of local love that grows into a global impact." Both compilations will come in limited, multi-coloured vinyl editions, as well as on regular black vinyl and as a 29-track digital set.
