More than 100 concerts, talks and more are scheduled across SónarCCCB and AI And Music S+T+ARTS Festival in October.
Sónar has revealed the programmes for two new, in-person festivals in Barcelona next month.
Running back-to-back, both events will be based at Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). First up is AI And Music S+T+ARTS Festival, which will open with a concert at L'Auditori on October 27th.
Exploring the relationship between humans and technology, the festival proper, taking place on October 28th, will span music, talks, demonstrations and hackathons. Highlights include Mouse On Mars, AWWZ and a collaboration between Holly Herndon, Maria Arnal and Tarta Relena.
This will be followed by SónarCCCB, which will run across October 29th and 30th, plus an additional day of talks, workshops and documentary screenings on October 31st hosted by Sónar+D. There will be 40 performances, including live sets from the likes of Leon Vynehall, Space Afrika, object blue, Tirzah and Koreless.
In the lead-up to the festivals, Sónar is hosting a series of shows by local artists at IDEAL. The main draw is the world premiere of Koraal-Magma, the new audiovisual show by John Talabot and Desilence. Find out more here.
