  • Applications are now open for the Future Female Sounds DJ Academy, a free education program for aspiring selectors in Copenhagen. Located in the city's Nørrebro district, the Academy kicks off in October with in-person workshops, training, mentoring sessions and industry talks. Each semester lasts three months and ends with a performance at a venue. The academy, supported by Denmark's Tuborg Foundation and conducted in Danish, exclusively focuses on women, non-binary people and gender minorities. It also reserves 20 percent of spaces for marginalised and underprivileged youth from Nørrebro. For now, only those based in Denmark are eligible to apply. Founded in 2017, Future Female Sounds is a Copenhagen-based non-profit and booking agency. In addition to running DJ programs and networking meetings, it's also organising a DJ summit and digital handbook for women DJs in Europe. For more information on the Academy and how to apply, visit the website.
