  • Plötze has been given the go-ahead to begin hosting events again this week. The open-air venue, based by the shores of Plötzensee in Wedding, had been suspended from hosting musical and cultural events by local authorities since late July. The news was released in a statement by the Plötze team this week: "Due to unclarity in regulations and broken promises from the local district, Plötze has been blocked to offer any kind of cultural program that involves music during the past weeks. After months of back and forth, there is finally clarity: Culture at the Plötze will take place and dancing is allowed again, even if only on one leg." Under the new agreement reached with the authorities, no live instruments may be played within the venue, leading to the cancellation of all live band performances scheduled to take place. A condition of the agreement means there will also be capacity restrictions in place for future events, which will recommence this coming weekend. Plötze's program restarts with Sunshine Club on Sunday, August 15th, followed by an extended back-to-back set between Francesco Del Garda and Saoirse on Saturday, August 21st. The full statement from the club can be read here.
