  • Nazanin Noori, a Berlin-based sound artist affiliated with female:pressure, has developed a walk-in installation that centres around an ambient composition. Exploring the "transition between states of being," AMBIENT ROOM is a sound and video work that goes on exhibit at Berlin's EIGEN + ART Lab for two weeks starting July 30th. For the installation, Noori staged a room inside the gallery as a tribute to the work of Antonin Artaud and Pauline Oliveros. "With AMBIENT ROOM, I intend to build a space, in which our understanding of sonic and visual syntaxes get shifted," Noori said, adding that she intends "to provoke a mental state that loosens a structure of thinking." Noori is also slated to DJ at Berghain's garden event, Hangout, on August 4th alongside Jessica Ekomane and KMRU. Check EIGEN + ART Lab's website for more details.
