- The LP is due out on the Los Angeles artist's own Glydezone imprint on July 30th.
DāM-Funk has a new album, Above The Fray, on the way via his own Glydezone label.
The new record is the product of a pandemic-era creative renaissance from the modern funk maestro, during which DāM-FunK got back to the innocent manner in which he created and shared music earlier in his career. "It feels good to be able to do something I love again, like collect records and share them with people alongside releasing any new music I want," he said.
"I want to humbly interject into the game cats like myself who on any given day can listen to 'Black Superman' by Above The Law and at the same time listen to Larry Heard, Prince, Happy The Man, Barry White or Prefab Sprout," added DāM-Funk.
Above The Fray is DāM-Funk's first album since 2015's Invite The Light. He's dropped three Private Life albums as Garrett and various DF EPs in the meantime.
Listen to the first single off the forthcoming album, also called "Above The Fray."
Glydezone will release Above The Fray on July 30th, 2021.
