- The album comes out in September on Frahm's new label, LEITER.
Nils Frahm has a new collaborative LP with F.S. Blumm on the way.
The seven-track 2X1 = 4 stems from a mutual affinity for dub, according to the press release. "We had a certain sound in the back of our heads, which was influenced by these '80s rhythm machines, and we suddenly discovered a common love for dub," Blumm says.
The majority of the record was recorded during improvisatory sessions in 2016, with the duo adding overdubs and edits in the years after. It's their fourth full-length together, and first since 2016's Tag Eins Tag Zwei.
2X1 = 4 comes via LEITER, a new label Frahm started with his manager Felix Grimm. It'll come on double-LP, CD and digital formats. Earlier this year, Frahm put out an unreleased album from 2009, Graz. F.S. Blumm, meanwhile, put out an album called In Sight last year.
