  • Erica Synths and Sonic Potions have announced a new version of the LXR drum synthesiser. Originally released by Sonic Potions eight years ago as a DIY kit, the LXR-02's digital synthesis engine provides sound design flexibility unusual by average hardware drum machine standards. Its six voices each have dedicated LFO, envelope and transient generators, plus a wide variety of parameters can be modulated by velocity, FM depth and the step sequencer. It can also morph between saved preset sounds. The six voices can be assigned to one of four outputs, and each has a dedicated volume slider. There's also a multimode filter with a variety of shapes and compresion, ring modulation, delay and three flavours of distortion on-board. The LXR-02 is currently available to pre-order on Sweetwater for $589. Watch a demo of the LXR-02.
