  • Nightclubs across Spain, including Madrid and Barcelona, are reopening, The Local reports. A vote held by the Interterritorial Health Council earlier this month encouraged the country's 17 regional authorities to outline territory-specific rules for the return of nightlife. Clubs in Catalonia, which includes Barcelona, reopened yesterday, June 21st, with a closing time of 3:30 AM and an indoor capacity of 50 percent. Partygoers are allowed to attend indoor events in groups of up to six and are expected to wear face masks on the dance floor. In Madrid and Galicia, the rules are more strict. Only outdoor dance events with 75 percent capacity are allowed in the capital, and venues must close at the earlier time of 3 AM. Galicia has decided to delay the reopening of clubs until July 1st. Nightclubs in the Balearic Islands—including Ibiza, the country's main clubbing destination—remain closed. But this Friday, June 25th, the White Isle is set to hold its first pilot clubbing event at Hard Rock Hotel. Capped at 1,500 people, the free party will prioritise essential workers and run from 7 PM through midnight. Head to The Local for a full region-by-region rundown of the restrictions.
