- The two longstanding experimentalists will release the six-track LP next month.
Michal Turtle and Suso Saiz are working on a new album together.
Static Journeys was recorded between Basel and Madrid in 2019, during two recording sessions that each spanned just several days. The pair first convened in Turtle's "living room" studio, where Turtle contributed percussion and Saiz centered synthesis and modulation. During their second session in Madrid, other talents, such as Saiz's textural work and Turtle's melodies, came to the fore. Due out June 18th, the full-length fans out over six tracks, and is due out through Swiss label Planisphere Editorial.
Although both Turtle and Saiz have been active for decades, recent reissues have garnered renewed interest in their catalog. Turtle gained a wider following after Music From Memory's 2017 reissue of his 1983 LP, Music From The Living Room. Another affiliate of the label, Saiz released an album with Suzanne Kraft last year, titled Between No Things.
