  • American composer Aaron David Ross, or ADR, is releasing an album on his newly-minted label, Legendarium Records. Arriving on June 11th, Filter Failure comprises ten tracks of experimental electronics and ADR's vocals. The album, which is accompanied by ten videos that the artist animated hmself, derives its name from a theory about the overload of information in the digital world. The concept "occurs when our filtration mechanisms rupture from sheer access, resulting in being completely at the whim of the avalanche-feed of information and shifting contexts," according to the press release. Filter Failure is ADR's first solo album since 2016's Throat. Read our review of that record. A former member of the New York duo Gatekeeper, ADR has also contributed music to the 2019 film Uncut Gems and collaborated with Kelela, Oneohtrix Point Never and Kelsey Lu, among others. Watch the video for "Opacity," the first single off Filter Failure.
