- The 6 Planet Discovery Mission arrives next month via Mills’ Axis Records.
Jeff Mills and Developer have put together a space-inspired compilation.
Slated for digital release on May 7th courtesy of Axis Records, The 6 Planet Discovery Mission consists of six tracks by Silent Servant, Inigo Kennedy, Benjamin Damage and Developer himself. Each artist named their respective cuts after a fictional planet. Conceptualised by Mills and curated by Developer, the compilation was created for the Underground Resistance cofounder’s new digital magazine, The Escape Velocity.
"The 6 Planet Discovery Mission is a metaphor in discovering something else or out of the Axis norm and I used planets instead of artists to describe this," described Developer who heads the Modularz imprint. "It was clear that it was important to keep the Axis space aesthetic," he added.
Established in the early '90s by Mills, Axis Records frequently releases music inspired by science-fiction and space. Its recent offerings include Jonas Kopp and Jeroen Search's Holographic Universe as well as Mike Storm and Surgeles' Some Thing Some Where.
