Burning Man officially cancels 2021 edition

  • Burning Man has pulled the plug on this year's festival, choosing instead to focus on 2022's edition. This year's event was scheduled to happen from August 26th to September 3rd but according to the team, pandemic-related uncertainty has made it impossible to move forwards. "Although here in the United States we may be feeling the weight lifting and the light at the end of the tunnel brightening, we are still in the pandemic, and the uncertainties that need to be resolved are impossible to resolve in the time we have," read a statement on The Burning Man Journal. Over 70,000 burners typically descend on Black Rock City in a typical year, and camps like Robot Heart and Mayan Warrior have become key gigs for big-name DJs.
