  • LA collective Surround launch new label, Dusk Recordings, with a West Coast-focused compilation image
  • Dusk Recordings, established by the team behind local DJ crew Surround LA and the two year-old festival Dusk Camp, officially launches on June 4th with the release of a compilation called Dusk Volume 1. Described as "a love letter from California," the digital-only album features West Coast artists such as Dave Aju, Juliet Mendoza, John Tejada, SONNS, Warehouse Preservation Society and Masha, who is one of the label's cofounders. Ranging from house to techno, the 14-track work "paints an image of vessels cruising through the cosmos to dock at deep house islands," according to the liner notes. To learn more about Dusk Recordings' founders, revisit this 2019 report from the Los Angeles Times. Listen to Heidi Höven's "Dancefloor Dreams" and check out the compilation at Bandcamp.
