John FM's 2020 digital EP, American Spirit, will get an expanded vinyl and digital release on XL Recordings.
The Detroit artist originally dropped the EP via Bandcamp last year. (Check out the RA Recommends review). The XL version features a new remix of the lead single "Forever" by AceMo, which will only be available on the vinyl release.
With news of the XL signing comes a new music video for the EP's opening track, "February." Directed by the artist's regular collaborator Omar-S, the clip was filmed during a day trip to Dayton, Ohio. Out today, the track features arrangements and mixing by fellow Detroit producer Black Noi$e. The single is described by John FM as a tale of a love triangle and a break-up.
