- CurraL001 features Omoloko, Lagoeiro, Soft Soup and Princesznhadapaz, among many others.
CurraL, a well-loved party in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, has launched a label with a 19-track compilation.
Belo Horizonte, the sixth-largest city in Brazil, is not as well-known for dance music as São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, yet in recent years, the city has developed a reputation for a thriving party scene. The likes of Helena Hauff, Bufiman and Lipelis have traveled to the city for wild events thrown by 101Ø and its sister party CurraL, which was established in 2016 as a reward for a campaign aimed at buying a new cmputer.
CurraL, run by Belo Horizonte DJ OMOLOKO and 101Ø co-founder Arthur Cobat, has now made a foray into pressing up records. As the pandemic shut down parties, Cobat and OMOLOKO threw themselves into CurraL001, a first-of-its-kind survey of the current Belo Horizonte scene. The set, which dropped last week, includes 19 tracks from Belo Horizonte artists, including Lagoeiro and João Nogueira of the Masterplano collective, Bright Clouds from the Love Paranoia party, Soft Soup, a new resident at 101Ø and CurraL, Princesznhadapaz and OMOLOKO himself.
Take a listen to the compilation and head over the the official website for more information.
