Nicolás Jaar and Dave Harrington have announced details of their second studio album as DARKSIDE, Spiral.
The nine-track Spiral arrives eight years after the duo's debut, Psychic. Most of its tracks were written in 2018 when Jaar and guitarist Harrington rented a house in New Jersey for a week, writing a new song each day. Spiral will be released by Matador Records on July 23rd.
The second single, "The Limit," is available to stream now, following "Liberty Bell" which they shared in December last year.
"From the beginning, DARKSIDE has been our jam band," says Jaar, "something we did on days off. When we reconvened, it was because we really couldn't wait to jam together again."
Harrington adds: "It felt like it was time again. We do things in this band that we would never do on our own. DARKSIDE is the third being in the room that just kind of occurs when we make music together."
Spiral follows the recent release of a live version of Psychic the pair recorded at Dour Festival in 2014.
