  • Vermona is releasing a MKIV edition of the DRM1 drum synthesiser. Originally released as the Syncussion DRM1 in the mid-'90s, the DRM1 has been in production for a quarter-century, making it one of the most enduring analogue percussion synths ever produced. The MKIV is the first major update since 2006's MKIII and focuses on under-the-hood optimisations, such as an improved signal-to-noise ratio, frequency and envelope range adjustments and synthesis engine improvements. The new model also includes USB-MIDI and MIDI Out, allowing you to route incoming trigger signals from analogue or digital sources on to other instruments. The optional trigger inputs are now velocity-sensitive, and touring artists will welcome the new power supply, which removes the need to manually change the mains voltage. Listen to demos on the Vermona website. The Vermona DRM1 MKIV is available to order for approximately €699 depending on your territory.
