New York's The Lot Radio has put out its first-ever release for its fifth anniversary.
Out now, A Lot Of Love is a 63-track compilation featuring residents and friends of the online station. They include local acts such as Eamon Harkin (one half of DJ duo Mister Saturday Night), FaltyDL, Barbie Bertisch, Musclecars, Toribio and Takuya Nakamura, among others. All proceeds from the digital-only album go to the station's resident DJs.
A music release was "always something we had in mind and since we had to cancel the anniversary party two years in a row we thought it would be a perfect time to do it," The Lot founder Francois Vaxelaire told Resident Advisor.
Since launching in 2016, the platform has streamed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from its location at a reclaimed shipping container. To stay independent, it survives off sales from its physical cafe and online store.
