  • Corsica Studios has a new online project that's centred around clubbing, art, film, performance and sound. Launched last week, Schemata will showcase audiovisual work by upcoming and established artists around the general theme of nightlife. "With the clubbing scene dead for over a year, reimagining the creative potential for our deserted nightlife spaces seems fitting right now," London-based Corsica Studios said on its website. First up is an interactive, 3D show called Vortex. Featuring Hyperdub label boss Kode9, performance art duo Nathan Greywater and Polyphoniefae (AKA Harmergeddon), London imprint Most Dismal Swamp and female DJ collective Synaptic Island, Vortex is an ode to "the desolate venue," according to the official description. Audiences will "experience the dislocated and uninhabited space of the club, with its ghostly ambience that is both familiar, yet distorted and unsettling." The show, done in collaboration with online multiplayer exhibition space New Art City, aims to create a tribute to nightlife. Vortex celebrated its launch on Friday with a free stream of DJ sets from the likes of Equinox, Tim Reaper and Forest Drive West. Watch a preview of Vortex.
