  • Moog has announced Sound Studio, a series of all-in-one modular systems that bundles two pre-existing Moog synths with accessories. The Sound Studio range comes in two versions, pairing the DFAM percussion synthesiser with either the Mother-32 mono synth voice or the Subharmonicon, a polyphonic synth voice. Both options come with a new mixer and power distributor, a cable organiser that attaches to the supplied two-tier rack, and illustrated booklets containing exercises, educational material and games. The idea behind the bundles was informed by Moog's display show areas at expos and other public events, where they "quickly learned that users with any level of experience can feel comfortable and excited about sound exploration with the right tools, guidance, and creative space." The release is joined by an EP made using either of the Moog Sound Studio combinations, and contains tracks by the likes of Julianna Barwick, Dan Deacon and Bonobo. Listen to it on SoundCloud. The Mother-32 option costs $1,399 and the Subharmonicon version is $1,449. Watch a promo video for Sound Studio.
