- The 27-track work features Paul St. Hilaire as well as Jackson & His Computerband.
German duo Modeselektor (AKA Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary) are back with their first full-length in two years.
Described as a mixtape, Extended arrives April 9th via Monkeytown Records. Available on tape, CD and digitally, it touches on rave, glitch, hip-hop and dub, spanning 27 tracks in total. The work also includes cameos from Paul St. Hilaire as well as Jackson & His Computerband. According to a press release, Bronsert and Szary went through ten different versions of Extended during the production process.
A series of EPs are scheduled to follow the release. Each 12-inch will focus on reworks and remixes of different tracks on Extended. A film featuring a dance interpretation of the mixtape is also slated to come out in April.
Extended follows the duo's 2019 LP, Who Else. Read our review of that album. To learn more about Modeselektor's eclectic style, revisit our 2019 RA Podcast with the veteran act.
