  • Leeds station Sable Radio is launching a three-month mentorship and training programme called ReSound. Four Black participants aged 18 to 25 will each receive £1,500 to work at Sable's studios across 15 days. There will be training, masterclasses from Resident Advisor and one-to-one sessions with various mentors, including Tobi Kyeremateng (Black Ticket Project/No Signal), Ifeoluwa (Intervention) and Martha (NTS Radio / RA). Towards the end of the three months, the participants will receive an additional £1,000 to help bring their own project to life. "This project comes at a really exciting time for us at Sable," says cofounder Baile Ali. "We're in the process of finishing a new website and visual identity and have a lot of new projects/commissions coming up in spring so hopefully the participants can get some good practical experience having spent the last year inside. Workshops and mentoring has been really central to what we do as a station so it feels great to bring all of that together under one programme and focus on supporting young Black creatives in a city whose music/arts scene is so white-dominated." Applications close on April 5th. Apply now. RA contributed financially to ReSound.
