Planet Mu is putting out another Basic Rhythm album.
Basic Rhythm, the dancefloor-centered alias of London-based producer Anthony J Hart, is releasing his fourth LP on May 14th, 2021. The album follows the project's Planet Mu debut, On The Threshold, which was released back in 2019. The album intends to celebrate Hart's 30-year career, as well as pay homage to Hart's beginnings as a pirate radio DJ in the mid-1990s. The cover art, for example, is a photograph of the St. Fabian Tower which housed the Rude FM pirate station, where Hart was once as a regular DJ. Several books are also referenced in the LP's track titles, such as Palace of the Peacock, the first novel from Guyanese writer Wilson Harris.
