  • DJ Sotofett has announced his next album, Nor, to be released on SUED on May 21st. The Sex Tags Mania boss originally had the idea of digging into his archives and creating a playlist for SUED boss SVN, however the project ended up taking the shape of a full album. The resulting LP sees the Norwegian appearing as simply Sotofett and contains music produced all the way from 2002 to 2020, with the oldest material predating the Sex Tags label. Those early productions are made either with one drum machine, one synthesiser and no sequencer, or Minidisc sample-based collages stitched together on Qubase, while the more recent cuts are products of programming sessions on Finnair flights. Nor will be Sotofett's first release of 2021. It follows a typically prolific 2020, highlighted by an experimental album with Jaakko Eino Kalevi and Andres Lõo, a MIDI exploration with E-GZR, and a track-a-day month of releases on Bandcamp in July. It's also the first record on SUED in 2021, after an LP by PG Sounds last year. Listen to samples of Nor over at Deejay.de.
