  • Dutch institution Conservatorium Haarlem has extended the deadline for its Associate Degree Of Electronic Music course, starting in September. Available part- or full-time, the two-year programme is geared towards producers and artists already working in the creative field and looking to level up professionally. Applicants now have until the end of May to apply. The curriculum is designed to develop production and performance technique, mixing and mastering expertise, and branding and communications skills. Students will gain access to state-of-the-art facilities and receive one-on-one coaching. Course tutors include Estroe, Julien Chaptal, Joran van Pol, Dam Swindle's Lars Dales and Max Oude Weernink (FKA Dirtcaps). "The music industry is both challenging and full of opportunities and it takes guidance to grow from good to excellent, especially in current times," says artistic director Richard Zijlma. "We invite talent from around the globe to bring their different skills and genres to Conservatorium Haarlem in order to take their artistic careers to the next level." Touted as Holland's leading electronic music institution, Conservatorium Haarlem was founded as a music education academy in the '70s and transformed into a conservatory in 1985. It did away with its classical music department and now specialises in electronic, hip-hop, musicals and pop music. The conservatory was relocated to Haarlem, a 30-minute drive from Amsterdam, in 2010. Watch a short video about the course, and find out more info here.
*Correction: A previous version of this article said that the deadline had been extended to the end of March. It has now been updated to reflect the new deadline, the end of May.
