  • Listen to the first EP from Ndeko and Imbratura, AKA Sicaria Sound. Out March 5th, Binate is the first official foray into production from the London-based DJ duo. Its four tracks take in influences from their respective African and Arab backgrounds, as well as sonic cues from hip-hop and dubstep. The new release is one of numerous projects the pair will bring to completion this year, before ending Sicaria Sound in its current form at the end of 2021. Their label Cutcross Recordings will continue into 2022. "All around us fellow artists, creatives, friends, family and strangers... so many of us have all had our livelihoods disrupted by COVID-19, and the physical and mental health toll on us all has been pretty intense to say the very least," Sicaria Sound wrote via Facebook. "In light of this, the way that we choose to run Sicaria Sound is no longer sustainable so with a heavy heart but in order to protect our health and wellbeing we are going to wrap this project up at the end of 2021 and just stay best friends." Listen to previews of Binate and watch a video about Sicaria Sound's decision to end the project.
