  • Resident Advisor and Asahi Super Dry present Discover Tokyo, a virtual experience using spatial audio powered by Club Qu. The 45-minute experience will take viewers on a tour through Tokyo, taking in neon-lit streets, a digital art gallery and a nightclub. Honey Dijon, Kerri Chandler and DJ Nobu have each composed original music for one of the stops on the tour. "Bars, restaurants and nightclubs are on the next level every time I visit, especially in Tokyo," says Chandler. "When arriving from the airport, as soon as I see Rainbow Bridge I can't stop smiling... Quality is very important in Japan and it shows in everything." In addition to the music, which is mixed in ambisonics—a surround sound format you can hear through any set of headphones—and 360-degree visuals, participants will be able to enter competitions, order beers to their front doors and have group chats in private cubicles. Discover Tokyo is scheduled for Friday, March 26th. It'll be on loop for 24 hours via discovertokyo.stream from 7 PM in Sydney to midnight in Los Angeles. Pre-register for the event here. Two years ago, RA and Asahi Super Dry collaborated on a series of films about Japan's listening bars.
