  • Timehri, a new London label, is releasing its first record next month. Future Horizons, from DJ Perception, is due out on March 1st. It marks the UK DJ's first full solo record since 2019, featuring three new tracks encompassing UK garage and house, including a collaboration with guitarist Fitz. Timehri comes from London DJ T Dunn. The name is an Guyanese-Amerindian word translated as "petroglyph"—symbols that have been used as a form of communication and storytelling for thousands of years. A press release says that Dunn "pays homage to his Guyanese heritage, continuing this legacy as a cultural aesthetic through music via an alternate reality sometime in the far future." The first transmission from Timehri came late last year in the form of a panel discussion about the Windrush generation and its impact on UK music, featuring DJ Ron, Tash LC and Heny G. You can watch that here. Listen to clips of Future Horizons, and check out it at Bandcamp.
