- Charlotte Dos Santos has narrated a short film about jazz icon Pharoah Sanders. Pharoah - Fall explores the Brazilian-Norwegian artist's relationship with Sanders' music and beliefs. Directed by Paris-based filmmaker Aurelien Bernard, the near seven-minute video sees Dos Santos open up about "metamorphosis, the practice of surrendering and letting go, and the influence of nature nurturing her own world," according to a press statement. Bernard told Resident Advisor that he wanted to collaborate with the singer and composer after seeing her perform live and discovering her 2020 album Harvest Time, which he described as "a powerful reference to Pharoah Sanders' body of work and spirituality." The legendary saxophonist began his career playing with John Coltrane in the '60s, and celebrated his 80th birthday last year with a livestream concert in Los Angeles. Watch Pharoah - Fall.
