  • Magnetic Fields has announced a new socially-distanced, limited-capacity festival. Nomads is scheduled for March 19th to 21st in Ranthambore, a jungle area in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Though line-up details have yet to be announced, the festival has announced other offerings, including wellness workshops, theatre shows and jungle safaris. A predominantly outdoor gathering, the event will take place near a national park and tiger sanctuary. To ensure minimal environmental impact and respect local biodiversity, the festival is working with sustainability experts. All ticket holders, performers, vendors and staff are required to show negative COVID-19 test results within 24 hours of arriving and will be subject to temperature checks throughout the event. Attendance is capped at 400 people, all of whom are required to stay on-site. Face coverings are also necessary when people are in close proximity with others outside of their immediate circle. Magnetic Fields, which canceled its 2020 edition, explained in a press statement that Nomads was conceived years ago. In response to the pandemic, the team said they "reimagined the structure and scaled it down considerably" to incorporate health protocols in accordance with state regulations. "Our focus this year is on championing and supporting local excellence in food, culture and music as we cautiously celebrate the encouraging signs of revival in India," they continued.
