- A tribute to Phil K, the Australian DJ who passed away last year.
"The mix is breaks obviously, all with the exception of the inclusion of Tame Impala, one of Phil's faves," writes James Zabiela about his new mix, Peaking Breaks. It's dedicated to the late Australian DJ, Phil K, who opened Zabiela's mind to the possibilities of the Pioneer CDJ.
Peaking Breaks includes one of Phil K's productions as Hi-Fi Bugs, as well as numerous Australian artists and some of Phil's favourites. "In keeping with 'Philisms,'" Zabiela continues, "I also fetched my old Pioneer EFX1000 from the attic and employed some of the techniques that Phil taught me, he was the king of the feedback loop!"
